On Monday, March 24, Mike Klinck of our 100 Guys organizing committee met with Bill Shields, Executive Director of Safetynet Children and Youth Charities to drop off the Q1 donation cheque (totalling $12,858.17) and to have a tour of the facility.

Mike was very impressed with the operation, from the furniture section to the clothing section and more.  Unlike other similar charities, Safetynet provides these items to needy families completely free of charge.  All clothing donations are sorted and only items in good shape are provided to recipients in order to preserve their dignity.  Items that don’t make the cut are sent to recyclers who purchase them on a per pound basis.  The proceeds go toward Safetynet’s operating costs.

Mike was then introduced to a group of friendly volunteers who were busy sorting through items.

Bill has big plans to provide further much-needed services to those in need in our community.  He has a surprise announcement to share with us at our Q2 event.

Don’t miss it!

Thank you 100 Guys!

You are all making a difference.
